SHRADH PUJA has a great significance for everyone



In Indian tradition, the word ‘Shradh Puja’ has a great significance for everyone. This puja is performed on the death anniversary of nearest and dearest one in the family for giving respect or devotion to him/her. In other words, it is a ritual in which individuals express their feelings and show loyalty towards theirancestors.Shradh Puja exists on each day of the ‘PitraPaksha’ (dark fortnight) in which people cook some favourite and special food of the departed person. Amavasya and Purnima are the best days for this puja. In addition to this, Shradh Puja should be executed by all the family members for their loved ones in the proper manner with pre-defined rules. They need to sitnear to the ‘Hawan-Kund’ and must say at least 108 times ‘Swaha’ while putting somecoconut and Haldi into the Hawan-Kund. This is an idea way of performing Shradh Puja for the peace of departed loved one’s souls.
Apart from this, such type of ceremony executed by 2 Brahmins on the specific day in which peopleshould provide lunch/food to 108 needy and poor persons after the completion of puja. Along with this, they can offer somefood to cat, dog, snake and cowto get the success and good luck in life.
